Animated Flickr Mosaic

I am sooooo WEB 2.0!

I have just completed another flash / actionscript personal project. My latest effort continues my study into the BitmapData object and combines this with images pulled from Flickr.com. The little project turns peoples images into animated works of art, if they weren’t art already :-)

To load the images into flash I used SWX to help me interface with the flickr API, which you can learn more about here  http://swxformat.org/

In my apllication, you can either view the latest images uploaded onto flickr, or alternatively the images of a choosen user (perhaps yourself).

I am quite happy with the final result and enjoy seeing 2 contrasting images animate between each other.

I do have another version, sitting on my computer, that is capable of turning static images into high quality vector prints. If you are interested in such a print, please contact me and we will see what we can come up with.

Since around September last year, or whenever you upgraded your flash player to version 10, this application has been down… the situation has now been resolved…. and I have had a long hard look at myself in relation to neglecting my site.
